I wasn’t able to post this before but when I first heard Andrew Garcia’s version of straight up, I just fell in love with it. As Kara Dioguardi said, “genius”. I totally agree. I really love it when a contestant flips a song, make it his own and make it sound better than the original.

Most of the time the original song is better than any revivals or renditions but there are a few that stand out. One is last year’s “Heartless” by Kris Allen. This season, given proper polishing, Andrew’s Straight Up was it. I’m pretty sure we’ll hear some more like these from this season’s contestants.

You know wnat I would really like to see? I want to see Andrew perform a full version of this song.

March 11, 2010 American Idol – Elimination day once again. Four out of the 16 contenstants will go home. Who will it be?

Before I tell you who they are, Scott MacIntyre and Matt Giraud performed during the show. Wow, it’s nice to see these awesome guys back on stage from last season.

Whew! I thought Andrew Garcia was one of the 4. Fortunately he’s not included.

Didi Benami’s March 9 Performance on American Idol 2010 top 16. For sure, this was better than her last week’s performance. She’s singing better, smiling, and the judges all agree that this was a good performance.

The original version was faster and more of a rock and roll type of song, however, Didi Benami’s version was slower, more mellow and I guess this is what the judges wanted to see in their contestants, pick a song, and make it theirs.

March 9, 2010 – Lilly Scott, one of the top 16 American Idol contestants sings I Fall To Pieces by Patsy Cline. I agree with Simon that it didn’t have the wow factor. For me it’s an ok performance, but it’s something that I would remember after a few days.

I like the voice of Lee Dewyze. I think he has the singing talent to be on the top of this seasons American Idol. Today, March 2, 2010 (03/02/2010), he performed a nice song called “Lips of an Angel”.

There’s a lot of good talent this season in American Idoland one contestant that I think has the potential is a girl named Didi Benami. She’s actually a waitress but she sings like a pro.

This week, the top 24 was announced and she got in. I bet we’ll be sing more from Didi in the coming weeks.

So which do you think was better?

This year’s Grammy Awards will be remembered by one color, and that’s “Pink”.    People might forget who the winners of this prestigious award giving body but for sure, most of us will not forget the one of a kind performance by Pink.

Pink sung a song from her album entitled “Glitter in the Air” and made it even more breathtaking when she lay on a cloth that is circling above the audience and continues to sing her piece.    As she float in the air she never missed a single note that stunned the crowd.   I guess you’ll never know what I’m talking about if you haven’t seen in.

Well, for those who still haven’t seen her performance at the 2010 Grammy.  Check out this youtube video.

Sharon Stone, best remembered for her role in the movie “Basic Instinct” is set to guest in the hit TV series Law and Order SVU. She will play as a former police woman who turned prosecutor.

I remember watching that movie before. It’s one of those must see movie because of that one scene everybody was talking about back then. Sharon Stone is now 51.

Sharon Stone will appear in 4 episodes of the NBC popular crime series. There are no definite dates yet for the airing of these episode but I’m pretty sure Sharon Stone’s fans will be waiting for these 4 dates.

NCIS LA  S01E11  entitled “Breach” was aired last Jan 5, 2010.

I just read from CBSnews and latimes that the a US official (I guess this would be the Secret Service) confirmed that the alleged Whitehouse state dinner gate crasher is Carlos Allen (Hush Magazine CEO). This happened back in the November 24 at the Willard Hotel at the gala for the Indian prime minister. Apparently, it was reported that Carlos tagged along with the Indian delegation.

Ronald Kessler (a journalist from newsmax.com) reports that the Indian Embassy had asked the State Department to ferry the executives to the White House — an unusual request for guests visiting the United States in a nonofficial capacity. Allen, a U.S. citizen, was among the group of business leaders.

I guess Carlos Allen really thinks that he was invited. I’m pretty sure, a man, CEO nonetheless wouldn’t go out of his way and risk his name just to gate crash a Whitehouse party.

On the other hand, how does this affect the secret service protocols? Just imagine, somebody uninvited can get into a state dinner and pass through all those secret service checks?
