Ralph Macchio – Where Is He Now?

The remake of the movie “The Karate Kid” triggered a question about where the original karate kid “Ralph Macchio” is now and what happened to his personal life.

Well, Ralph Macchio married Phyllis Fierro back in April 5, 1987. He now has a daughter named Julia (born 1992) and a son Daniel (born 1996). I guess he named him after his character in his famous movie.

Back in the 90’s I remember seeing him in a movie called “My cousin Vinnie” together with Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei.

Last October 2008, he appeared in a tv series called “Ugly Betty” as Archie Rodriguez who is a local politician.  He has since had a semi-regular role as Hilda’s love interest on the show.
